The Best South Coast Wedding Venues (2021)

If you are planning to host your wedding in the South Coast of Australia, then this list of the best South Coast wedding venues will be a massive help in deciding which venue is perfect for your wedding day vision. It’ll be hard to pick just one venue though, this list is full of amazing South Coast wedding venues!

#1 – Driftwood Shed

The Driftwood Shed is one of the more unique and rustic South Coast wedding venues on our list and we love it! This location is a DIY type of venue where you rent the property for the weekend. This property rests upon 5 rural acres along the banks of the delightful Shoalhaven River. A self-contained cabin and an 80-year-old shed filled with goods from days gone by are the two structures here.

It’s full of country charm, mountain views, and gorgeous gardens which adds to the relaxed feeling this property gives off. Even though this venue is DIY style, they do provide tables and chairs enough for 100 people, as well as a 6m x 18m clear-sided marquee. This venue is beautiful, just take a look at these photos from Ellen and Alan’s wedding there!

#2 – Terara Riverside Gardens

Terara Riverside Gardens is a stunning wedding venue nestled on the banks of the Shoalhaven River, and family-owned & operated. It’s a popular choice for those choosing to marry on the NSW South Coast, and it’s really no surprise – it’s absolutely stunning! Terara Riverside Gardens has several options available for locations of where to hold the ceremony, as well as plenty of options for photo locations all on-site.

The chilled atmosphere of the venue that hits you the minute you drive through the entrance gates, and the lush gardens, colors of Autumn in the trees make this place so special! Jess & Keith fell in love with Terara Riverside Gardens when visiting South Coast wedding venues, and I can see why!

#3 – Seacliff House

Seacliff House is well renowned as one of the best South Coast wedding venues, and it’s not hard to see why! It truly encapsulates the essence of the South Coast, with farmland meeting the sea, and is a DIY wedding venue allowing couples to bring their own customization and flair to their plans in regards to styling & catering.

Seacliff House is also a desirable venue if you’re looking for on-site accommodation for your wedding, from start to end! Christine & Nathan’s wedding was held at Seacliff House on Saturday when everything went into lockdown during the pandemic. Thankfully they were able to still have their special day with no restrictions. It was beautiful!

#4 – The Woods Farm

This beautiful pick of South Coast wedding venues is called The Woods Farm. It is a luxury country estate that rests upon 40 acres of land just minutes from the water’s edge of Jervis Bay.

It can accommodate up to 120 of your guests, and they even offer accommodations such as eight beautiful three-bedroom cabins and even glamping tents! The Woods Farm allows couples to do BYO and DIY to save on costs for their big day if you love the venue but don’t need them to do it all for you.

#5 – The Cove

A beachside paradise when it comes to South Coast wedding venues, The Cove is a hidden retreat perfect for your wedding day. The property is reached after a 13-kilometer drive through the rainforests of Booderee (Jervis Bay) National Park.

This place was designed to provide the weary guest a place to relax and refresh away from the stress of everyday life. Here are photos from a shoot I did at this intimate South Coast wedding venue.

#6 – Figbird Cottage

Figbird Cottage is a beautiful DIY wedding venue on the “wedding strip” of Terara – a suburb just outside Nowra, on the NSW South Coast. I call it the wedding strip, as within a few km along the one road there are at least 5 wedding venues; including many on this list!

In the midst of the Spring wedding season, we captured this session. One reason why I love this place among all of the South Coast wedding venues is that the Figbird Cottage comes to life in Spring with the gardens in full bloom and full of color! There’s a marquee on site perfect for receptions, and plenty of spaces around the property for ceremony and photo location options.

#7 – Bundara Farm

If you are looking for something more quaint and out of the ordinary, then Bundara Farm is a fantastic choice amongst our best of the best in South Coast wedding venues.

This property has three amazing country cottages that can accommodate your intimate guest list for your special day. The Waverly Cottage, Bundara Homestead, and Bellevue Cottage are all within 50m of each other, making your stay cozy and intimate. This stylish country oasis is the perfect spot for a unique country wedding.

#8 – Bewong River Retreat

The Bewong River Retreat is one of my favorite South Coast wedding venues in NSW. So much so that I sometimes call it my “second home”!

I’m lucky to be able to have photographed many weddings & engagements on site here, and I am obsessed with the 160 acres of lush, Australian bush landscape that the venue boasts. It’s truly a beautiful private estate for your wedding festivities.

#9 – Wildwood

If you have ever dreamt of getting married in the Australian rainforest, then look no further! Wildwood Kangaroo Valley wedding venue is set on 100 acres of pristine rainforest. And if that wasn’t enough natural beauty, the property nestles up against a fantastic sandstone escarpment.

This location has unique ceremony locations, a range of options for your reception, stunning photo opportunities, and even the freedom to choose your own theme, style, and food service to fulfill your vision for your special day. We loved shooting Shaleigh and Rhys’ wedding at this South Coast wedding venue!

#10 – Terrara House

When you arrive at the entrance of Terrara House you will drive down a breathtaking driveway lined with trees, and you are welcomed by the locally farmed animals that surround the property.

The crowning jewel of the Estate is the historical heritage listed House which boasts 23 rooms for sleeping and entertaining up to 20 guests. The Stables accommodation can accommodate up to 8 guests making this property a perfect spot for a smaller and more intimate wedding!

#11 – Cupitts Winery

Getting married in a vineyard is not only dreamy, it means the property is full of amazing photo opportunities with gorgeous landscapes. Cupitt’s Estate Winery on our list of the best South Coast wedding venues has exactly that!

This winery was established in 2007 after the vineyard produced enough fruit for winemaking after it was planted in 2003. The atmosphere here is casual, the landscape is anything but!

#12 – Worrowing

At Jervis Bay, you will fall in love with the lovely and charming Worrowing Estate. Restored to take on its new life as a wedding and events venue, you can get married here, celebrate afterward, and even stay the night and start the perfect married life together. You are able to arrange your own caterers and other vendors to create the wedding of your dreams. Located just minutes from pristine white beaches and rugged bushland, all your guests will have a relaxing, fun-filled weekend.

#13 – The Sebel Harbourside Kiama

The Sebel Harbourside Kiama is an extra special place on our list of the best South Coast wedding venues! It is picturesque for a romantic beachside wedding and even a weekend getaway. The Sebel offers enough accommodation for every one of your guests making this an all-in-one venue where no one needs to leave.

They have a skilled wedding planning staff that can help you plan your day and go over the range of versatile location options for your ceremony and reception, they also cater wonderfully to all sizes and styles of weddings, as well as all budgets. Tahlia and Kieran eloped here during the pandemic and even though their ceremony was small and intimate, it was no less extraordinary!

#14 – Merribee

This premium destination on our list of South Coast wedding venues is wonderful! They offer over 20 separate outdoor garden rooms and areas for entertaining, as well as indoor areas to entertain guests. Merribee’s gardens feature herbs and fruits, season vegetables, along with an extensive range of flowering plants and trees all linked by lush lawns and over two kilometers of granite pathways that take you on a journey around the grounds. It’s truly exquisite!
